I just discovered Janelle Monae today. Her music is interesting and her videos are artsy. Both seem to pack in powerful messages regarding black culture. I've downloaded two of her albums and will give it them a listen. A comment under one of her YouTube videos explained that her albums grow on you. And I can see that. So in the meantime, have a listen yourself…
