The Great Wall of Vaginas

Vaginas are different and diverse. Let's celebrate and educate that fact.

Take a good look, people. Not all vaginas are created equal, but all can be seen as equally beautiful. It just takes a little knowledge and an open mind.

New (Eco) Death Practices

First up: Dead body pods. And Italian idea and design that is not in effect yet. I would love to see this happen for the future of the death industry and our after-death options.

The idea is simple: your dead body goes into an egg-shaped pod with a tree attached to it, and it gets buried into the ground in a "sacred" area or forest (basically a zoned area for dead bodies), and it grows into a forest. Yay!

Second up: Bio urns!

How it works: Your ashes go into a biodegradable urn with seeds in it, and that gets planted into the ground. More plant growth! Yay!

All of this is so very natural and healthy for our planet. What a great way to, after a lifetime of taking from nature, give back and contribute to nature's perfect recycling cycle. Yay again!

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - Feminist TED Talk

Now that I've reached my thirties, a lot of concepts that were insignificant to me (or better yet...too complex for me to understand), now make sense. Spirituality and feminism are of the things that I now have deeper understanding. And this TED talk represents the understanding I've come to in regards to feminism. Perhaps it took me 31 years to experience mistreatment and inequality based on my sex. And perhaps it was those experiences that lead to me to see the injustice and that gave way to understanding. When I was younger, I didn't know how real racism was, because I grew up as a white girl surrounded by people of all color. I personally didn't experience racism, and still don't. And I have always been accepting of all people, and assumed everyone else thought just like me. But I've found that racism is real, and that not everyone thinks like me. And sexism is real. And other struggles are real, too. Like mental illness. Eating disorders. Abuse. I'm a big proponent of equality. Empathy. Understanding. Loving-kindess. Connection. I DO understand where the feminist bashing comes into play, but it's rooted in misunderstanding and fear. It is ignorance, bigoted ideas, and insecurity that cause people to hold onto limiting and oppressive beliefs. Let's open the doors of our minds to acceptance of and equality for everyone. Because everyone deserves it. Everyone.
